The tunnels are east Liverpool. There's heaps of tunnels that all connect. Some of them are still blocked. They vary in size from the "banqueting hall", which is about 21 m long, between 6 m and 8 m wide and 6 m high, while the smaller tunnels are 1 m wide and 2 m high.The first picture is part of the Williamson Tunnels.
The second picture was taken in the 1960's it is of the Williamson tunnels.
There are 2 different rumors about motives one was he was scared that the end of the world was coming and he and his friends would hide in it. The other was he wanted to give poor people jobs.
